amori How-To Guide

Scan, snap, find.
A step-by-step walkthrough for first-time users.

1Getting started

All you need is the LINE app and a box you can put a box sticker on. No separate app to install.

① Add amori on LINE

Tap the button below, or scan the QR code, to add the amori official account. Everything happens right inside your LINE chat.

② Get a box sticker

During the beta, we hand out stickers at events such as exhibitions, with online sales planned to follow. One sticker becomes one box.

③ Put the box sticker on your box

Put one box sticker on the box, drawer, or bin you want to organize. Somewhere visible from the outside makes it easy to scan later.

2Create a box

Scan the sticker you just stuck on, and a box is created for that sticker.

① Scan the box sticker

Open the camera from "Scan a Box Sticker" in the menu and read the sticker on your box. If it's a brand-new sticker, you'll go straight into creating a new box.

② Set a name and location

Enter a name for the box (e.g. Winter clothes, Emergency kit). The location (e.g. Back of the closet, Living room shelf) can be added or changed later. You can also attach a photo of the box.

3Add items

There are three ways to add things. Just snap a photo and the AI suggests a name for you.

One at a time

① Snap a single photo

Photograph one item and the AI suggests names from the picture. Pick a suggestion, or edit it to the name you want right there, then save.

Photo recognition

② Photo recognition and your credit balance

Naming from a photo uses photo recognition. New accounts get 1,000 free credits, and you can check how many are left on the settings screen. Once they run out, you can buy more (credits don't reset monthly).

③ Still works when recognition is paused or used up

When you've paused photo recognition, or you've used up your remaining credits, your photo is still saved properly. You can name it yourself afterward.

Multiple

④ Upload several photos at once

You can send up to 30 photos at a time. They're recognized one by one, and you can review and edit all the names later from the review page.

Type

⑤ Type an item name

You can also skip the photo and just type in the item's name. Handy for small things, or items that are hard to photograph.

4Find items

When you think "Wait, where did I put that?", just look it up in LINE.

① Use search

Type a keyword from "Find Items" in the menu, and you'll get a list of matching items along with the boxes they're in.

② View boxes and item photos

Open a box to see the list of items inside and the photos taken when they were added. You'll know what's inside without opening the box.

5Share with family

No more having the location of everything in the house live in just one person's head.

① Invite family to view a box

Create an invite from the box's page and you'll get an invite message you can forward in LINE. Once they accept, they can view that box with you. You can also share several boxes at once.

② What sharing lets you do

Invited family members can view the shared box and its contents (the item list and photos). The owner (the person who invited them) can see the member list and remove sharing at any time.

6Common actions

The little things after you've added something — all from LINE too.

Rename an item

Choose "✏️ Rename Item" from an item's details, then enter a new name to change it. If an AI suggestion doesn't feel right, you can always change it later.

Withdraw an item

Once you take something out of a box, you can remove it from the record with "Withdraw". It asks you to confirm before deleting, so there's no risk of removing it by accident.

Delete your account

Go to "⚙️ Help & Settings" → "📖 Account & Help" → "🗑️ Delete Account". Before anything is deleted, you're shown how many boxes, items, and photos you currently have, and asked to confirm twice. Once confirmed, it can't be undone.

If you delete your account, your photos and data are permanently deleted within 30 days. That's the fourth of our privacy promises.

Contact support

From "⚙️ Help & Settings" → "📖 Account & Help" → "📞 Need Help?", reach us through the report form. If anything goes wrong, this is the place to tell us.

7Troubleshooting

The four situations people run into most, and what actually fixes them.

The box sticker won't scan

When you scan, amori asks you to photograph the sticker on the box. If it comes back with "We couldn't read the sticker", keep the sticker in the center, avoid glare and shadows, hold the camera straight, and try once more.

Still no luck? The sticker carries a 12-character code printed above the QR. Tap "⌨️ Type the Sticker Code" and enter it — it works exactly like scanning.

Photo recognition got the name wrong

The name doesn't have to be right the first time. Open the item's details, choose "✏️ Rename Item", and type the name you want — as many times as you like. See Rename an item for the steps.

If you sent a batch of photos, go to the box → "⋯ More Options" → "📂 Handle Several Items" → "🖼️ Rename from Photos" and fix them all in one pass while looking at the pictures.

You've used up your photo recognition

Running out doesn't lock anything. Photos are still saved and still filed into the box — the only difference is that you name them yourself. Send a photo and amori replies "✅ Photo Saved", and you just type the name.

Sending several photos at once, and registering items by text with "⌨️ Type the Name", both keep working. You can see how many uses are left under "⚙️ Help & Settings", where you can also "⏸ Pause Photo Recognition · 24h".

Nothing happens when I scan the sticker with my phone camera

The QR on the sticker holds the sticker code itself, not a web address. So your phone's built-in camera app just shows a string of 12 characters and does nothing else. That's expected.

Use LINE's scanning function instead: in the amori chat, tap "📷 Scan a Box Sticker" and photograph the sticker. Typing the 12-character code from the sticker and sending it gets you to the same box.
