Frequently asked questions

Stickers, photo recognition, privacy, family sharing.
The things people ask us most.

1What do I do when I run out of stickers?

One sticker is one box. To set up a new box, you need a new sticker. How to get them is on the How to Get Box Stickers page.

Running out of stickers does not affect the boxes you have already created: looking inside, adding more items, searching, and sharing with family all work without a new sticker.

2Do I lose anything if I don't use photo recognition (AI)?

No. Every amori feature still works. The only difference is that you type the item name yourself.

Without photo recognition, the photo you send is still saved into the box. Once it's saved, amori asks you to type a name for it, and you name it there.

Every new account comes with a set of free photo recognitions. You can see how many are left in “⚙️ Help & Settings” inside LINE. After they run out, your photos are still saved exactly as before.

If you want to stop photo recognition for a while, choose “⏸ Pause Photo Recognition · 24h” in Settings. Search, your box list and family sharing are all unaffected.

3Do I need to install an app?

No. Add amori as a friend on LINE and you can start the same day. Creating boxes, adding photos, searching, sharing with family — it all happens in the LINE chat.

There's no separate account to register either. You use the LINE account you already have.

4Where are my photos stored, and who can see them?

Photos are stored in amori's cloud and tied to your boxes. Only you, and any family members you invite, can see them.

Your photos are never used to train AI. We don't sell data and we don't run ads.

The full story is on the amori's 5 Promises page.

5Is the free plan really free forever?

Yes. That's the fifth of our 5 Promises: you'll never wake up one day to find out you suddenly have to pay just to see your own boxes.

amori's current revenue comes from selling box stickers. We will announce any future paid options when they are available. We don't turn your data into money.

6How many items can one box hold?

One box holds up to 100 items. When you reach the limit, amori shows a “You've Reached the Item Limit” card.

The number of boxes is capped at 500 per account on the Basic plan. A paid plan that raises this limit is not available yet.

Taking an item out frees up its slot again.

7How does my family use it with me?

Create an invite from the box screen and amori builds an invite message you can forward on LINE. Once a family member accepts it, they can see that box with you.

  • Up to 4 family members can join one box.
  • A single invite can cover up to 16 boxes at once.
  • Invite codes are 6 characters and valid for 3 days; once someone has joined with a code, that code is used up.
  • A box shared with you is marked “shared by [name]” in search results.
  • You can see who has joined at any time, and you can stop sharing at any time.

8Nothing happens when I scan the sticker QR with my phone camera.

Please use LINE's scan function.

The sticker's QR contains the sticker code itself (12 characters). Your phone's built-in camera will just show you a string of letters and numbers, and amori won't open. Scanned with LINE's scan function, that code goes straight to amori, which then takes you on to creating or opening the box.

You can also tap “📷 Scan a Box Sticker” in the menu and take a photo of the sticker. If the photo can't be read, you can type in the 12-character code printed on the sticker instead.

9How do I delete my data?

In LINE, go to “⚙️ Help & Settings” → “📖 Account & Help” → “🗑️ Delete Account”.

Before anything is deleted, amori shows you how many boxes, items and photos will go, and asks you to confirm twice. Once you confirm, your box and item data is deleted right away, and your data including photos is permanently deleted within 30 days, as promise 4 says.

If you only want to remove a single item, choose “Withdraw” on that item's screen — see Everyday Actions in the How-To Guide.
